We give Thanks
Once again we give thanks to our Lord that
SuperMitt lost big on SuperTuesday. The loss is even worse when you consider all the money Mitt Romney has spent so far. Former Gov. Huckabee has almost the same number of delegates as Mitt Romney now, but has done it on a shoe string, without a wife and 5 sons pitching for him, unable to crisscross the country by jet at whim. And without endorsements from the so-called Conservative leaders. Good for you
for not being mind numbed robots!Maybe Mitt Romney
isn't the smart businessman everyone thinks he is?
Not to get into politics too much here, but if Mitt Romney is such a great Conservative, then why did he win in Liberal Massachusetts? Shouldn't all the Liberal "Republicans" there have shunned him and voted for the "anti-Conservative" John McCain? (Hugh Hewitt's term)
And Minnesota? Mitt Romeny won Minnesota? Isn't Al Frankin running there?
Well, it ain't over until it's over, but we're thankful that our God
has frustrated the plans of Mitt Romney once again. I'm thinking our Lord is being gracious to our country for now because most of my countrymen are truly ignorant about Mormonism and don't know what a Mormon in the White House portends. I mean, the media keeps telling us that Mormonism is Christian.
OR - maybe my countrymen know more about Mormonism than I give them credit for? Maybe all the former Mormons and all the Evangelical Christians and the Internet have informed the voters about
the creepy cult?In which case, we give again give thanks that we have an Internet, YouTube, uncensored access to it (most of us, anyway) and the ability to blog mostly uncensored at Townhall.
My prayer for Mitt Romney
As much as I'm getting tired of all this blogging (even though more funny photos await) and as much as I would like to move on to other things (not to mention never having to listen to the Hugh Hewitt show for the rest of my life), I'm going to pray that Mitt Romney continues to spend his money in pursuit of the Presidency.
For one, it will give my Evangelical brothers more avenues for spreading the word about Mormonism and to spread the true Word of the Jesus of the Bible. (Versus the jesus of Mormonism.) The longer Mitt Romney stays in, the longer Mormonism stays in the spot light. (Maybe the problem is that people don't know Mitt Romney? That he just needs more time to get his message out? Isn't that what Tom Daschle said about the Democrats last cycle?)
Second, Mitt Romney's money must certainly be helping the economy. Maybe he'll spend another forty million dollars?
If you're a Christian and wondering why I'm not praying for Mitt Romney's salvation, it's because I cannot find anywhere in the Bible where anyone prays for the salvation of anyone else. In fact, quite the contrary, I can find
several imprecations against unbelievers. Nor can I find any command to pray for the salvation of someone else. In fact, at one point in their history,
Jeremiah was commanded NOT to pray for the Jews at all! The transaction for salvation is between God and the sinner. You cannot change it with prayer, just as you cannot pray for someone to refrain from evil. You should not take credit if someone is saved (as people are quick to do), nor should you beat yourself up if someone opts for hell.
While there are very general statements in the Bible that God desires everyone to be saved and "that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone," these are not commands to pray for an individual's salvation.
[No, I'm not a Calvinist, in case you're wondering. Just going by what God says.]
And I pray that Mitt Romney keeps soliciting advice from Hugh Hewitt,
defender of the faith. "Goodnight, Chet"
[Am
I dating myself there or what?)
Okay, it's been a long day and a longer night. Let's see what Mitt Romney decides to do (stay or go) and, Lord willing, I'll resume blogging as necessary.
