"Stuck-on-Stupid?" The GOP if Mitt Romney as Veep.

Parody of Forrest Gump movie poster, with Mitt Romney sitting at the bus stop
Mitt Romney as Forrest Gump.
Like a box of chocolates.
(Let's pray he misses this bus.)

Dumb, dee-duh-dumb

I've posted before about Mitt Romney's most excellent economic plan (NOT!), RomneyCare in Massachusetts. It's a long post, quoting original sources, but the key phrase is
A spokesman for the department [of Revenue] said the goal is to keep the fines as simple and clear as possible so everyone knows the cost of not getting insurance.
THE COST OF NOT GETTING INSURANCE??? It costs you money to NOT buy something? That's perverse. And anti-Republican!

Fortunately, I'm not the only one seeing it. From Bizzyblog, this story titled "Romney as Veep? Only If the GOP is the Stuck-on-Stupid Party" Unlike my typical posts, his is short. Here's one key paragraph, buttressing what I've said before.
The warning signs about RomneyCare's implosion have been out there at least as far back as last October (fourth item at link). Its crackup will be used by the Democratic nominee as"proof" that the only solution to the "health care crisis" is to have Uncle Sam take the industry over, as it's "just too big" for one state to try to solve.
See the rest of his post for documentation.

No religion, too...

This particular issue is totally secular. It has nothing to do with Mitt Romney being Mormon. At least, not directly. It just proves what I've been saying. That, at heart, Mitt Romney is really a Liberal. In my post above, about Romney-Care, his own story (from the Wall Street Journal) began like this:
Only weeks after I was elected governor, Tom Stemberg, the founder and former CEO of Staples, stopped by my office. He told me, "If you really want to help people, find a way to get everyone health insurance." I replied that would mean raising taxes and a Clinton-style government takeover of health care. He insisted: "You can find a way." I believe that we have.

The facts are proving he was wrong. Romney-Care is a financial disaster, as Bizzyblog documents.

Mitt Romney started out on the Right foot (pun intended), but tripped up immediately. It is NOT the government's job to "help people." That would be the Christian church's job. (Hey, Christians. The Mormon church is out-doing you!)

The best way for the government to help is to get out of our way! Isn't that the essence of Ronald Reagan's statement, "Government is not the solution to our problems. Government IS the problem."

This is so foundational to being "Conservative" it proves Mitt Romney is not the Conservative he, so chameleon-like, now tries to play. Nor is he the economic genius he and the right wing MSM would like you to believe.

We don't have any direct control over whom Senator McCain chooses for his running mate. It's not like we can not vote for Mitt Romney, as we did in the Primaries. (Although you would think that would send a strong signal to Senator McCain.)

But we can pray. Pray that Senator McCain does not yoke himself with Mitt Romney. As off the Conservative reservation Senator McCain sometime is, Mitt Romney is even worse. But unlike John McCain, Mitt Romney, as a Mormon missionary, knows when to keep his mouth shut and/or will tell you what you want to hear.
