Do you want a Raelian - or a Mormon - for President?

I'm busy doing missionary work this month, so I've been missing most of Hugh Hewitt's radio show. Too bad, because his show is fodder for this blog since he's a big proponent of Mitt Romney. Still, I managed to catch the first hour today. (Monday) This will tie in nicely with my last post.

A man called in, indignantly saying he would never let a man's religion influence how he votes. (Reference Mitt Romney's Mormonism) Oh yeah?

Was he a Mormon seminar caller? Who knows. Mr. Hewitt didn't ask. But be on the lookout - we can expect millions of them in the years to come.

This is silly. And it goes against God's instruction in the Bible about how to choose others in government. Judges, for example. (Exodus 18:21-22) But it reflects the heart and soul of the caller. And, I fear, many so-called Christians.

There seems to be this belief that you can be a Christian on Sunday and live like the devil the rest of the week. Or, similarly, you can claim Christ and contrary to the Bible, marry an unbeliever.  Or, knowing that Mormons believe they can become gods someday, per Lucifer's lie to Eve, condone a Mormon President. Is Jesus your Lord or isn't He? Does He rule over your WHOLE life or just parts of it?

I suspect this compromise dates back to the lie promulgated in the 60's "Live and let live." Or as Rodney King might rhetorically ask, "Can't we all just get along?"

The Biblical answer is "No." Aside from the fact that Mitt Romney has already sworn a blood oath to his church, you cannot call yourself a Christian and not let Christ affect your politics. The Apostle Paul was VERY clear about this:

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?

But let's put the theoretical into practical perspective:

Would you elect a Raelian for President?

Neither then should you elect Mitt Romney for President. The Raelian's think we came from aliens. Mitt Romney thinks we came from Kolob.

Don't fall for the politically correct lie. Just as you wouldn't vote for Rael, don't vote for Mitt Romney. It's okay to let his religion influence how your vote.

Tell them that, like Mormonism, the blog isn't like what it seems.
