I don't think Rush (Limbaugh) usually takes Mormon callers — "Seminar callers?—who pitch for Mitt Romney. I mean, even if they're not Seminar callers per se, they're clearly biased for "Brother Romney." And I don't get the impression that Rush Limbaugh is keen on Mitt Romney anyway. Good for him.
But Roger Hitchcock was guest hosting for Rush today and he isn't as discerning as Rush. Mr Hitchcock took a call from someone pitching for Mormon Mitt Romney. He didn't ask, but the caller eventually volunteered that he was a Mormon.
To Mr. Hitchcock's credit, he mentioned the cult problem with Mitt Romney. That there are lots of Americans who (correctly) won't vote for a Mormon. That, for one, it's a cult. And of course, the Mormon insisted he is not in a cult.
BUT DOES ANYONE WHO'S IN A CULT KNOW THEY'RE IN A CULT?That was a rhetorical question. But for the Mormons out there who will argue the point, telling me they're not in a cult, the answer is "No. No one who's in a cult knows they're in a cult."
See my previous post on Mormonism as a cult this for more. (And also my post on how
Mitt Romney will use the Ralien technique to deflect the claim he's in a cult.)
Mormonism is a mind control cult. It meets the
classic characteristics for a cult. It makes no sense to insist you're not in a cult. The best you can do is to show why you CAN'T be in a cult. For example, in my case, I do not belong to any organization or group. Therefore, I cannot be in a cult, since I am not in a group, a necessarily element of a cult.
But Mitt Romney is in a group called the Mormon church.
Even the 10th Circuit court of appeals called it "monolithic." It meets the requirements for a cult. And really, even if we didn't have a checklist,
you can tell Mormons are in a cult. They all think the same!
Still not convinced?
Listen to this creepy cult warning! He can't see it, but it's true nonetheless. He is subservient to his church, both by
oath and by choice. Some scary quotes from his leaders:
Obedience is a fundamental law of the gospel. It is not only the demonstration of our faith but also the foundation of our faith. Unquestioning obedience to the Lord [that's Mormon code for "church" since the Lord obviously speaks through his "living prophet," the "President of the Mormon church"] indicates that a person has developed faith and trust in Him to the point where he or she considers all inspired instruction — whether it be recorded scripture or the words of modern prophets [See, what did I tell you?] — to be worthy of obedience.
- Elder Robert Oaks, "Believe All Things," Ensign, July 2005, page 30
On this occasion I am not going to talk about the good or bad of Prohibition but rather of uncompromising loyalty to the Church. How grateful, my brethren, I feel, how profoundly grateful for the tremendous faith of so many Latter-day Saints who, when facing a major decision on which the Church has taken a stand, align themselves with that position. And I am especially grateful to be able to say that among those who are loyal are men and women of achievement, of accomplishment, of education, of influence, of strength-highly intelligent and capable individuals.
- President Gordon B. Hinckley. "Loyalty," April Conference, 2003.
Do you want a President getting his orders from Salt Lake? When the Red Phone rings, who will be calling with a calling? Don't vote for Mitt Romney for President. You don't want a cultist for President. If he tells you he's not in a cult, he's deceived. If he tries to make light of it, claiming that Christianity is a cult, he's being deceptive.
