Come, Let us reason together about Mitt Romney

During December, some of the larger Mormon temples in the larger metropolitan areas put on some kind of display to attract people into their religion. For example, at Headquarters in Salt Lake, there's "Christmas on Temple Square." In Arizona, near Phoenix, the Mormon temple in Mesa has a light display.  Call ANY Mormon Ward in your area (look in your Yellow Pages, under Churches - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) and they all can tell you what's going on at their local temple. (Remember, it's a cult. Their whole lives revolve around their church - as opposed to revolving around Jesus.)

Now, it was Jesus' and Paul's habit to go to where the spiritual people were, to give them the Good News of how to escape God's wrath. In that day, it was the Jewish Synagogues. For some today, it's these Mormon events. There you can often find Christian Evangelists on the front lines of the spiritual battle - "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood (although sometimes they draw blood) but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Eph 6:12. Look for men holding signs with Bible verses or men simply standing around holding Bibles in one hand, handing out literature in the other.

So why not visit the men who can be found at these events, see the spiritual battle for yourself and encourage them? (In Salt Lake, you'll have to search for them because the Mormon church bought up the public street in front of their temple to keep Evangelists away!)

At the same time, you can pick their brains about Mormonism. While they're primarily there for the Gospel, when they're not busy with the lost, they'll probably have an opinion about politics and Mitt Romney for President. Ask if they think it's okay to have a Mormon for President because "you're not electing a pastor but a president." But be advised, these men don't simple honor God with their lips. They actually live the truth and can be quite frank.

Ask them what Mormonism teaches about murdering the unborn (a.k.a. "abortion,") and why a Mormon would say, for now, that it's not right. Ask them what the Mormon scriptures teach about homosexuality, if anything. Ask them about about the Mormon teaching on Jewishness, and where the Mormon church teaches their christ will return. (Hint: It ain't Jerusalem!)

Ask them about the Mormon temple ceremony and the old blood oaths and the new changes to prevent molestation. Of course, you can also ask an 18 year old Mormon "elder" (yeah, right) about the latter, but he won't tell you. (The 18 year old won't even know about the 1990 temple change that happened 16 years ago.)

Stick around for a while and watch the battle. After you see a few Mormons interact, ask yourself if you think they're in a cult. Then ask yourself if you would want Mitt Romney for President. You don't have to pray about it to find the truth. Go by the reason the Good Lord gave you.
