As I predicted in a previous post, the next salvo in Mitt Romney's battle plan to combat his Mormon problem is to label anyone a "bigot" who says they won't vote for Mitt Romney because he is Mormon. Hugh Hewitt has already fired the first shot and today, Michael Medved, on his radio show, is pulling up the rear. As callers called in to talk about Mitt Romney, he used the bigot word to shoot down anyone concerned about Mitt Romney's Mormonism.
Aside from the fact that this is an illogical, ad hominem, slanderous argument like the Left uses (you mean there's no legitimate reason I wouldn't want a Mormon for President?), it's especially surprising to hear conservatives use a Leftist tactic. They're taking a page out of the homosexual play book. Don't approve of homosexuality? Think it's sin? Oh, you must be a "homophobe." (The implication from the Left being that there's no legitimate reason to hate homosexuality.) It stops any dialogue cold. Good job, talk hosts!
But, yes, Virginia, it's okay to not want Mitt Romney for President because he's Mormon. You see, he's in a cult. You don't know how he thinks. He's a bit delusional. (Those underwear can save you from physical harm? He really believes that! That's why he wears them.) And he's sworn an oath to his church.
It's too bad Mr. Medved is blind to the spiritual element here, but not surprising. Unfortunately, he missed his Messiah, and therefore, his God.
1 John 2:23: "No one who denies the Son has the Father..."
Despite the fact that he doesn't know God, it's ironic to hear a Jew talk about bigotry, because of course, they are God's ONLY chosen people. Isn't that a bigoted thing to say? (One of the reasons the world hates Jews.) They were called to be a separate people. They insist there is only one God. (And they are right.) That God is not named Allah, or Elohim (one of the Mormon gods), but His name is YAHWEH.
So you see, Christian, it's okay to be a spiritual bigot, because, you see, God is a "bigot." Don't fall for the silly, Leftist bigot argument coming from the Right.
As it stands now, we can count Mr. Medved out of having any serious discussion about Mitt Romney. He lacks spiritual discernment.
