GOOD CALL!"Mark from Colorado" tests Hugh HewittFor Christians only
United in Christ
It
always amazes me when God's words come alive. For example, say I'm
evangelizing to Mormons on the sidewalk at a Mormon event. Someone
stops by to talk with me. Within a minute, without ever having met them
before or knowing anything about them, I can tell they are not Mormon
but, rather, a fellow believer in Christ. And I am SURE!
It's
like meeting a long lost brother, whom you knew all your life, except
you've never met him before! Yet you can still talk about your Daddy. I
trust you've had the same experience.
This is how it should be
if those of us in Christ are truly members of the same family.
[Children of God, no longer children of the devil.
Ephesians 2:3 and
1 John 3:10.] Indeed, the Apostle Paul (a REAL Apostle, not a fake Mormon apostle) said,
If
you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any
comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any
tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being
like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. (Philippians 2:1-2)
Saints and Aint's
And
so it was that I could tell, within a minute, that caller Mark from
Colorado was a true Christian saint. Not a Mormon Latter-day Saint or
someone knighted by the Catholic church as a "saint," but a believer in
Christ, called by God to be a saint, per
Romans 1:7. He called Hugh Hewitt on the Hugh Hewitt show Wednesday, May 30 and put him to the test.
Listen for yourself and see what you think.

[Just over 3 minutes of dialogue.]
Like minded
I
especially liked Mark's first salvo. Without having met the man and
assuming he's never read this blog (I would be flattering myself), he
expressed his concern that Mr. Hewitt may have a vested interest in
promoting Mitt Romney. That Mr. Hewitt is hoping to be Press Secretary
in a Mitt Romney Presidency. I had mentioned this at least twice
before, in
March and again in
May. Clearly, Mr. Hewitt has been auditioning for such a position and running interference.... as Mark points out later.
Mr. Hewitt insists he will not ever go back in government. (At least for 20 years.)
Let's see if Mr. Hewitt is a man of his word. (FWIW, I prophesy Mr. Hewitt will go back if Mitt Romney is elected president.)
A heart for the lost
And
then Saint Mark demonstrates his real love... a love not shared by Hugh
Hewitt. He is concerned that a Mormon in the White House will
legitimize Mormonism, making it seem Christian, making it more
acceptable, bringing it into the public eye, and therefore, condemning
more people to hell. A legitimate concern. It sure will.
In fact, that may be the very reason why Mitt Romney is running for President! He's
sworn a secret oath in his temple that
you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents and everything with
which the Lord has blessed you, or with which he may bless you, to the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for the building up of the
Kingdom of God on the earth and for the establishment of Zion.
I
know this sounds bizarre to those outside Mormonism, but you don't know
these people. They make long term plans. Who knows that Mitt Romney
wasn't called by his church (leaders) to get into politics? What better way to
get PR for the Mormon church than to be President of the United States!
A cold heart
Contrast
this with Mr. Hewitt's heart. [Know that Saint Mark and I are not in
total harmony, for unlike Mark, I am not at all convinced that Mr.
Hewitt—who is not sure that Joseph Smith didn't see God and who
believes in Fatima— is an "Evangelical." (See Jesus' warning in
Matthew 7:21.) But I trust this will become clear over time.
Philippians 3:15]
Mr. Hewitt says he doesn't think a Mormon in the White House will supercharge Mormon evangelism.
I'm
sorry, there's just no polite way to say this: That's just stupid.
(Defined in the Bible as "willfully ignorant.") Clearly a Mormon in the
White House will not hurt Mormonism, so the odds favor the status quo
or supercharging the Mormon church. What, you don't think that
thousands of Mormon missionaries will start conversations by asking the
unsuspecting what they think of Mitt Romney as President of the United
States? Or pointing out that their church must be true since a Mormon
is in the White House "fulfills" Joseph Smith's "
White Horse prophecy?" Golly.
Even The Wall Street Journal gets it. But Hugh Hewitt, expert on Mormonism, does not.
He restates that he doesn't "think" a Mormon Presidency will have the effect of empowering the Mormon church.
Is he willing to have the blood of all those condemned souls on his head? Doesn't sound very loving to me.
UPDATE: June 7, 2007. Just saw
John Gibson's The Big Story on FoxNews. They were interviewing young women, asking why they wanted Hillary Clinton for President. One reason was because having a woman President would empower women everywhere and prove that women in power were okay. So you don't think having a Mormon President would make Mormonism okay?
Con Law con
And
then he pulls the Con Law con, claiming that that's not way the "civic
'religion' in America operates," whatever THAT is. And as if it
mattered even if it did.
Two questions:
- Would you vote a Wahabbi Muslim in the White House?
- Would you vote an avowed Satan worshiper in the White House?
Apparently, Mr. Hewitt would. I would not. Religion does make a difference.
Never mix politics with religion?
Further, contrary
to the Biblical example, Mr. Hewitt seems to think there's a wall of separation between the spiritual and secular. He ignores that ne'er do well, the Apostle Paul,
who, when on trial before the civic authorities in Rome, dared to
mention religion. (See
Acts 25)
DING DING DING!
And lastly, Saint Mark shows his discernment by questioning Mr. Hewitt's constant dinging on
Fred Thompson's lymphoma.
In the software world, this is a tactic known as creating
"FUD." Just what you would expect from a
lackey for Mitt Romney.
Good for you brother Mark!
Don't
vote for Mitt Romney for President. Aside from the fact that he's in a
cult, that he has sworn an oath to that cult to do everything he can to establish it in this country, that his values are not your values, the problem is
that Mormonism is not Christian. You should not condone it by allowing a man who says he's Christian, but is not, to be President.
You, the true saints, were commanded
to contend earnestly for the faith. (Jude 3) Will you do that? Jesus
said, "If you love Me, you WILL obey what I command." Will you obey Him
and send a message to the unsuspecting that Mormonism is not Christian?
That would be the loving thing to do.
